Surely not!!!!! I thought Caldwell didn't want our Academy products..........🤔............... or maybe that was just a line being peddled without basis.🤨

Indeed! Clearly Cox thinks the best place for him to continue to develop in the next few years is at Exeter City, under Gary Caldwell.

Or, he's about to be unemployed and doesnt want to be, knows he wont get as good a deal anywhere else with a record like his so ensures employment for another two years

Now give the lad some support and play someone alongside him.

Judging by comments on this thread, everyone seems to think that Cox signing an extension is good news. For Sonny to sign, he would have to buy-into what Caldwell is trying to do; his style, approach and tactics. The only alternative theory is that he has no other options. But if he didn't think he was progressing at Exeter City, most players would probably not be signing a contract now and would wait to see what happens in the summer.

I’m glad we’ve offered him an extension as i think he’s shown enough to deserve one, he’s also young and has time to develop and improve.

Is he ready to be first choice? or our no1 striker next season? no to both IMO at the moment, i think he needs someone up alongside him with experience and someone who can take the physical burden off him.

That’s a lot of assumptions there

“the only alternative theory” 😂

A lot of the GC super fans like to say that he isn’t actually to blame for recruitment, but on this occasion it’s all down to his wonderful vision? Interesting.

Caldwell was criticised over the departure of Jack Sparkes and allegedly the same is about to happen with Harry Kite. So, in turn, isn't it only right to praise him when one of our academy products does want to stay.

Thought most people were fine to see Sparkes go other than Edwin?
