Vacancy for commentator to work on matchdays at the Park
Exeter City currently have an opening for someone to help the club and their disabled supporters by providing Soccer Sight commentary on matchdays.
Soccer Sight is an initiative which aims to ensure that visually impaired supporters can still enjoy the matchday experience, with live commentary provided by volunteers and transmitted via headsets.
It has been ever-present at St James Park since 2008 when Matt Cotton started providing the service, and is invaluable to a number of Grecians who rely on it for information about events unfolding on the pitch in front of them.
This season, Mark Briggs will be attending as and when work commitments allow, but the club could really do with somebody willing to take up the reins on a regular basis.
It is a fantastic experience, particularly for those with aspirations of going into sports or broadcast journalism, and is particularly useful when applying for journalism opportunities with regard to work experience and university, as Matt, Ollie Heptinstall and Paul Martin can all testify.
