Because of the pitch of the roof on the OG you'd have been able to see the advertising on top from inside the ground. I certainly cannot believe that the intention was to advertise to airline passengers, as there would have barely been any commercial traffic then.

No $*** Sherlock ! But for several seasons the front cover of the match programme featured an aerial photograph of SJP looking across the pitch in the direction of the OGS, which did give Regent a bit of added publicity !
