Should Noble automatically be in the team now?

While I know Noble is good class at this level, it seems a pity to break up the Sercombe-Dunne partnership, which was working out well last season. I also thing it might be a bit demoralizing for Dunne after he did so well. I guess some will think it is a luxury, but for me it should be Noble or Harley plus Sercs & Dunne, or all 4 of them.

4 into 3 doesn't go, which, I guess, is a nice problem for Tis to have. I thought Dunne's demenour & body language during the warm up & at half time was anything but demoralised; he looked very upbeat.
After yesterdays performance, I can still see a Championship side coming along, before the transfer windlow closes, to try to take Harley off our hands, which would vacate a space for Dunne. However, I think Noble, if he stays fit, will be a regular. Given half a dozen games I think we could well be calling him an automatic choice.

Here and there
Tis prefers players who can accept being on the bench most of the time without toy-throwing. Also, someone who has just been awarded the vice captaincy would, I suggest, be higher in the natural pecking order than Dunne.

His time will come though for sure.

A player should only be in the team on merit.

Tis hands out the merit marks ;)

Nobody should be in any team automatically no matter how good they are potentially. Unfortunately Tis tends to be loyal to certain players, and I imagine Noble will be one of them. On the other hand Noble will need several games to find his form and eventually become a more or less permanent fixture. With at least a choice of 6/7 for midfield, some are going to be left out, but imho I think we missed Dunne against C.Utd, therefore somebody has to be left out, and it probably won't be Noble.
Once again because Tis has gone for a large squad, some players will be on the bench more than they will appreciate.

I think you're right.. Just think it's a shame to break up the promising partnership between Sercombe and Dunne , if it is broken up, especially since they are young players

I think what you'll see is Dunney appearing away from home alot where a bit of bite, grit and determination is required to dig out a point or three. It strikes me that Dunney enjoys a battle which is his advantage over the other three (that's not to say that Sercs and Noble won't get stuck if required and we all know Ryan is Ryan;)) and which is going to be required on away days more so than at home. That said, I thought we could have done with that battling spirit for the middle section of the game yesterday.
