Comedy legend Reg Varney passed away in Budleigh Salterton today. Nice bloke and a very talented man too. I used to love On The Buses, Gawd bless you Stan!

The driver....

The spin off film 'Holiday on the buses' was one of the top ££££'s films in 1971 in the UK..

Bless him and RIP, but very much humour of the time.
Dad's Army, Porridge and Fawlty Towers gets aired (quite rightly) at the drop of the hat, but, brilliant though it was at the time, the likes of On the Buses, Man about the house, George and Mildrid (and the controversial racist stable mate) are now just fond memories.

Yeah, it seems the domestic scene sitcoms didn't move with the times.

You could add 'Til Death Us Do Part' to that list, imagine a rerun of that! <<Shudder>>.
