Re: Eamo

A good call there. Gets my vote!
Or a jointly named stand to include the much missed Stanno ?

Re: Eamo

Dreadful news. I only just checked this thread to see what it was about, I never imagined it was an obituary. Any chance of sticky status for a day or two, and RIP (or something) to the title perhaps?

RIP

Lovely guy.

Absolutely the right manager for us in 2003 - honest, no nonsense and positive.
He'll be greatly missed.

Sad news indeed - his passion and spirit was a joy to watch and certainly something we lack currently

It's been a shocking year so far for people passing away. Echo many others here in saying Eammo will be missed but always remembered as the catalyst for our return when times were darkest. RIP

Echo those sentiments...

The time he managed the club when all sorts of obstacles were placed in the way,and to take the Grecians within a wisker of the Play Offs in 2002/04 season was remarkable.

Re: Eamo

From the Supporters' Trust:-

EAMONN DOLAN R.I.P.

Exeter City Supporters Trust today expressed deep sadness at the news of the death of Eamonn Dolan and extended its condolences to his family and friends.

Eamonn will always have a special place in the hearts of City fans. He was the first manager appointed after the Trust took ownership of the club in 2003 and successfully oversaw that challenging first season which ended with a joyful centenary match against the Brazil Masters.

Eamonn had a special gift for youth development and moved on in Autumn 2004 to continue his career at Reading’s Academy. He left with the appreciation of everyone at Exeter City.

It was not only as a Manager that Eamonn will be remembered. He had also been a popular player, an innovative Football in the Community Officer and a far sighted Director of our Centre of Excellence.

Eamonn was one of the early pioneers of City’s Kick it Out Group, working tirelessly to combat racism in football and help lay the foundations for the Trust’s current One Game One Community work.

Paying tribute today Trust Chair Laurence Overend said:

“Eamonn was simply a wonderful human being. Passionate, positive and forward looking he contributed so much to Exeter City over so many years. We could not have appointed a better Manager to usher in the Trust era. He embodied the spirit that had saved the Club and shared the determination to build a future. We will never forget him”.
