That might do for the locals but them scallies are different gravy, if they can't get the wheels off they will take the whole car.
Good point, but the bus ain't an option for us country buays. I'll park it in front of the Police Station - on second thoughts, maybe not...

Plastic Liverpool fans are the worst fans in the World.

On the downside, w*nkers that think there's a "crisis" at Arsenal or any other rubbish regarding the "big 6" are total buffoons too.

On the plus side, at least I wont have to share the BB with any of these idiots come Wednesday, I can be a happy armchair for a day. I'll listen to the commentators waffle crap and take every word of it as gospel and explain to fans that actually went to the game about what I learned from the performance.

I hate plastics

Actually I'd like to do both as you do see things on TV you miss at the game. But as I haven't got Sky (hate Murdoch / won't pay the money as I rarely watch TV) I can't record it. Maybe I'll ask a neighbour to do it.

But isn't that part of watching football?? at football you watch the game.

On TV you watch the ball.

Two different games in many ways.

At the match, you see everything in real time once.

On TV everything is shown 50 times so you change your opinion. Refs get it worst, but players get it too. They forget the excellent work some defender was doing cos the left back was messing about the halfway line and concentrate on the small amount of space the defender leaves and a change is made. At the match, you'd notice it. On TV you'd be watching the ball and the attacker, the left back wouldn't necessarily even be in shot.

Absolutely. That's why I'd never substitute the TV for the live game. But sometimes, it's nice to see it from a different perspective (literally as well as metaphorically) later.

Unless we lose badly, which I don't think will happen.

Hello,

I am a Liverpool season ticket holder who will be at St James' Park tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to the early drive and while many fans you read on the forums might take the ****, I feel a really uncomfortable and nauseating evening down south tomorrow night! As for fielding a team of kids, I highly doubt it. (Doni, Flanagan, Carragher, Wilson, Robinson, Poulsen, Spearing, Joe Cole, Conor Coady, Raheem Sterling, Carroll - For what it's worth!)

Anyway, just a quick one to say please don't judge us by the morons that are on our forums. I flat out refuse to join them. We are a generally respectful bunch who, if you do draw us at Anfield in a future Cup competition, will welcome you with open arms at every pub up the Walton Breck Road, guaranteed. Best of luck tomorrow anyway, whatever the result(and I'm not optimistic), I hope you guys get a decent wodge out of it.

Sincerely,

Dan.

PS- Any recommendations for a pre match pint?

Boden,

To clarify, I have nothing against Liverpool fans from the Liverpool area per se .

It's the idiots that talk about Liverpool FC as if they lived there, or even visited the place on a matchday (I expect a few do the stadium tour) That goes for any club, not just Liverpool. Although I happily admit to hating Liverpool more than the others as I had to grow up with it in the 80's. If I was 10 years younger it'd be Newcastle, Blackburn and United fans that were the objects of my fury. That said, as a city, Liverpool is pretty rubbish and the proper scouse accent grates on me. Though I do like the posh Birkenehead Ringo Starr/Nigel from HMHB accent :)

P.S. Re pubs, depends what you want from the pub.

how about singing "we've been to wem-bel-y" a few times tomorrow using the same tune as "we own our football club"

In no particular order:

1. Red Square, open air ECFC club bar behind the Flybe Stand, away fans usually welcomed.
2. Well Street tavern, 2 mins from away end. Heavily stewarded but OK.
3. Duke of York, corner of York and Sidwell street, close to the ground. Away fan friendly but stewarded.
4. The Vic (Victoria), corner of Union Road and Victoria Street 5 mins uphill over the railway bridge behind the old stand. Student-type pub with friendly atmosphere.

Not sure whether all or any will have special stewarding tomorrow night, never any trouble at SJP unless away fans bring it. We are a lot of dopey West Country bumpkins, after all...

angelic upstart -

I'm from Heswall on the Wirral originally but live and work in Liverpool.

As for what I want from a pub: topless waitresses, a lax smoking ban and a bouncy castle. I would, however, settle for a pint and a nice amble to the ground.
