Totally agree, we should be arranging home friendlies against decent opposition to bring much needed finance. These away friendlies bring in no revenue but risk injuries to players from non league clodhoppers. The club keeps banging on it has no cash, so stop wasting money on trips to Bristol and Wiltshire, and play games at home.So we have no money, what is a good way of raising money? Home friendlies maybe? So we arrange the usual away trips to Clevedon and Chippenham. Even if you only made a profit of £2k on a home friednly then play 5 at home and that's £10k profit for the summer.
Clueless, we'll end up only playing 2 or maybe 3 home games as usual. There will be plenty of teams from the lower prem and Champ who will come down.
You do know that it's the reserves that will play at Chippenham and Clevedon?Totally agree, we should be arranging home friendlies against decent opposition to bring much needed finance. They still have to get there, thus incurring the petrol costs if nothing else. Why not play them at SJP?You do know that it's the reserves that will play at Chippenham and Clevedon?
Because we've been invited to play them at their gaffs? Why not play them at SJP?
I'm sure we have! So that they can make some money out of playing ECFC presumably, gate money, bar takings etc. As someone said previously, even if we make £2k from playing them at home, why not do this instead?Because we've been invited to play them at their gaffs?
So we can't afford to travel to play non-league part-timers, they should travel for the honour of playing us, for nowt?I'm sure we have!
