That's why so many in his party want to get rid of him
Because he is untrustworthy or because he has flip flopped ?

Both..You will be aware of the multitude of plots to replace Starmer, plots involving both his MPs and the membership because of his duplicitous behaviour and untrustworthy nature

…or is it because of his pragmatism ?

A lot has happened since 2020 and the coffers are empty.

No, he's just a liar.

Strengthening union rights (as an example of a broken pledge) doesn't cost much at all.

Meanwhile I read that the preposterous Jeremy Hunt thinks £100,000 per annum is not a particularly high salary. On top of the cringeworthy comment that it is the NHS that is the thing that most makes us feel proud to be British.

Tw@t of March award incoming for the To55er
Indeed.

And the only way he could reasonably make the case for arguing that £100k is not a huge salary would involve pointing out the fiscal drag that his party's successive tax band freezes have created.

In Mr Hunt's defence, he was specifically talking about London and the South East. In addition, he used the caveat of having a mortgage.

It's time for us to stop sniping at the almost humiliating ineptitude of the current conservative party and move onto the govt in waiting which is very likely to be equally as inept.

So if a six figure salary is insufficient to afford a home in the south east (and in many cases it is), why is higher rate tax being charged on wages just over half that amount?

The galling part of this comment is, of course, that however hard it is on £100k, the majority of people have to find a way to survive on significantly less.

And whilst this current government is, ya know, the government, I will keep criticising thanks very much :)

Oddly, it's the folks in the west country that suffer the most! They have massively high house prices, terrible services and relatively low wages.
