How strange, I've never heard of her before, but today in the pub one of the customers mentioned her. Said I sounded a bit like her apparently, the guy with him told him not to insult me, I have no idea why he said that though. We were talking about my accent, which I think is totally normal and not devonlike at all.

When I shall die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a Devon field
That is forever City; there shall be
In that red earth a redder scarf concealed -
A scarf that Greyhound bought - paid eight quid for,
To take upon the coach to Wem-ber-lee.
They must have seen me coming, that's for sure,
To get cash from a man as tight as me.

Pam Ayres I think was from Oxfordshire. If anyone told me I sounded like her I'd be offended!
