I think, even more technically, that while he had been released he was still under contract with City when he played those fixtures, as I *think* contracts are up at the end of either May or June.

Contracts end on 30 June but if you aren't engaged on another from 1 July, you get a further month. All written into the deals so if his Brizzle Rovers deal started on 1 July he was still a City player in May and June
