I don't know how it is these days but many years ago the poppies were made by soldiers, sailors and airman who had been badly maimed during both world wars and who had little chance of finding meaningful employment ever. Also, they don't glorify war rather commemorate the fallen like the time the Lancaster bomber dropped 55'573 in remembrance of that of that number of aircrew who gave their lives not only for our country but possibly for the countries of those dishing out the fines.

I'm off to Dorset to spend Christmas with my daughter so Merry Christmas to one and all. (cake) (beer) (beer)
