I watched the episode of Air Crash Investigation which covered that incident just a couple of days ago. A tremendous example of professionalism by Eric Moody and the crew that prevented a major catastrophe.Eric Moody, airline pilot, 82.

Had one of the safest seats in the country for 40 years . Always seemed like a right weirdo whenever he was wheeled out to be a 'talking head' on TV
Very sad news - a man of genuine integrity and decency, who always fought for what he believed was right, often on a bi-partisan basis (and which meant he had friends across the political spectrum). The treatment he received as a result of the "kinder, gentler politics" was nothing short of scandalous.
