What do people think on actually changing our badge! I personally feel it looks a bit dated now and i know a lot of clubs have done this, some several times.

Creating a new modern badge would also give us chance to overhaul our merchandise and potentially make some more, much needed cash as well as bringing us up to date!

Some people may not like the change but teams like Leeds, Swindon, Fulham, Burnley, Manchester City to name a few have all done it!

What do people think?

The new badges always look gash and then they change it again. They end up going back to the original one anyway ala Millwall.

I like our club crest, keep it.

Don't see a problem with the one we've got. Sounds like an expensive and pointless idea.

The one plus side to having a new badge, is that it can carry a copyright. Then if there was a cup run etc where a massive boost in merchandising, people are less willing to buy the cheap rubbish, that is likely to go on sale.

Saints Rugby League, changed from the crest back in 1997, and it boosted their own merchandising range and profits.

As far as City are concerned, I'm not sure about changing the badge. Maybe if we had a good merchandiser it would possibly work.

RIP Stanno, City legend
Leave it alone - it should represent our soul, not our brand.

I don't see the financial return. You pay money to designers to design it, you lose all your existing merchandise, need to update anything at the Park where the badge is shown (all the food outlets, signs etc.). Then whoever does the merchandise would need to reprogramme their tech to print/create the new badge....and then you probably end up selling the same amount of merchandise that you always do.

Without the fanbase of a large club I just can't see it being a viable way to make money.

I thought about this idea myself, but daren't raise it on here, fearing the backlash.

It could do with a little bit of tidying in my opinion, but wouldn't change it's base.

Problem is designers nowadays are always trying to be clever, and as a result you end up with a logo that looks like Lisa Simpson giving head.

The new style badges look like exactly what they are. Some corporate, bland, by the numbers effort designed by a muppet who knows nothing about football on a piece of software. Probably.

Design a new logo for merchandising maybe but change the badge? Never!
