Excellent post and summary of where we are - can't disagree with any of that - we move on - looking forward to it and whatever it may bring - UTCWe've got Martin in for JMT - could be a minus or plus
We've got Forte in for Simpson/ Macca - a plus
We've got Sparkes who must come into the picture this season - a plus
We've got yoof who are one year older - a plus
We've got a manager who talks football and not waistcoats and cravats - huge plus
We've got a freshening up of the backroom staff - plus
We've still got a couple of weeks for new signings and loans - plus
We don't have players hanging around injured or excess to requirements - plus
Feeling optimistic and will accept top 10 finish in Matt's first season as manager, especially if we play real football not pseudo football where the manager thinks he's smarter than the
sport itself.
Fresh air - soak it up.
You don't need to appeal for reasonable expectationsAll for the optimism, but not sure storey and jmt out/Aaron Martin in is really a could be good/could be bad 50/50 situation. I'm not knocking anyone, just appealing for reasonable expectations of Taylor... the heart of the defence has been ripped out.

Spot on,compared to previous seasons I am optimistic Matt will do well,I don’t expect us to win every game, but I think we will play some good stuff, without all the cryptic nonsense associated with the previous manager !We've got Martin in for JMT - could be a minus or plus

That's pretty decent (though we could really use a more natural RB) - but the problem comes with our depth. The first team is solid:I think our first choice starting 11 will be pretty competitive.
Pym
Sweeney Brown Martin Moxey or Woodman
Tillson
Taylor Boateng Harley or Holmes
Stockley Forte
Looks pretty good to me. A lot will therefore depend on luck with injuries and whether we can add a couple more decent players to give depth.
