Yes - come on! Our first win of the season and what a win! 3-2 against the second in the league and boy, did we deserve it. Looked up for it from the off. What a difference! The boys are so happy. Even after going 2-1 down we battled and fought, and the turning point was when the Comets were awarded a penalty, which was saved by our keeper.

Geddin you Dynamoes!

Well done Dynamoes! That first win - makes it all worthwhile doesn't it.

Hopefully the boys who were keen have found new clubs - I know Footymum's got a couple at Countess Wear and we have one at Brixington Blues. Lammie's got a couple too I think.
We have got one of their players here at Alphington

So today was the day: Blues v Alphington at the Devon FA headquarters for the U12 Cup smi final. It was a jittery start by Blues, but once the first goal went in there was an air of inevitability towards the final outcome.

Alphington battled hard though, and had a few chances themselves - they are certainly no mugs and can play some decent football at times - but on the night, and on a swamp of a pitch after heavy rain all day, Blues were just too strong eventually running out 7-1 winners.

And their reward? A final against either St Martins or Sidmouth (it was finely poised at 1-0 to St Martins when we left at half time) on May 16th on the hallowed SJP turf.

Great game, even better result.

A great footballing weekend! Feltham the visitors. In the mix with my son's team at the top of the table, just the sort of team to derail the bid to win the division.

Under pressure for the first 10 minutes, they started to get themselves in to the game, and hit the opposition with a double whammy in the 15th and 16th minute that took the steam out of the opposition. Our ex Aldershot player grabbed all 4 goals in the first half. 2nd half was similar, with son getting a goal, and surprisingly passed the ball to his unmarked team mate when only the goalie to beat, who put in to the net for his 7th goal of the game. Finished 10-2.

My son awarded Man of the Match for his commitment, running and team work.

Like I said, a great footballing weekend.

Good solid win for Blues tonight, 8-0 away at Crediton. The game was due to kick off at 6.30 - we were due to meet at the ground at 5.45 - but thanks to horrendous traffic queues between Exeter and Crediton we didn't get to the ground until nearly 6.45.

We eventually kicked off at 7.00 and were 4-0 up at half time. In the second half it took 20 minutes to register the fifth, then the boys rattled in a further three in quick succession, including Harry notching the seventh of the night.

Form a corner the ball was only cleared as far as Harry lurking just outside the box. With plenty of time and space he brought the ball down, steadied himself, then smashed it back towards goal high over the keeper's outstretched arms for with a strike of no little quality.

Bring on Pinhoe on Saturday!

With St Martins only managing to draw against Honiton today, Blues 7-0 win over Pinhoe this morning means that a win against Central on Thursday night will confirm Blues as Division One Champions for the second season running.

But they had to work hard for their win against Pins though, Pins kept their shape and their discipline meaning Blues had to stay patient and wait for the opening to come. And in that stifling heat too. In the end though they could have had a good number more, as their superior fitness and stamina meant the last twenty minutes or so were something of a one way street.

Good performance from Harry as well, running the midfield and covering an awful lot of grass in the process too. Good tackling and simple, neat passing as well, it's a pity City couldn't do the same this afternoon.

A strange match, with some refereeing decisions that didn't make much sense. Anyway, son's team pulled something out of the bag to get an partly undeserved 4-2 win. Son's contribution was to come off at the end of the match with stitch, and his replacement going straight on and scoring the final goal to make the game safe! Another place up the table, with a number of games in hand, we have the chance to win the division.

6-0 loss for the Dynamoes against Crediton Saints yesterday, which relegates us into division 2 for what will be next season's under 13's.

We must have capitulated totally in the second half, as we were only 1-0 down at half time. However, thankfully I was not there to see it as was getting ready for hospitality.

Oh well, with relegation confirmed maybe the manager will try and change the formation around over the next few games. Must be worth a try, as the current formation is obviously not working.

Midweek catch up match over in sunny Stoughton, Guildford.

Even start, with son scoring a nice 25 yard shot from right of goal (sure it was a poor cross though) after 9 minutes. Then with goals on 15, 16 and 17 minutes the opposition lost their fight. Game finished 11-0, son very happy with a brace.

Keeps the pressure on the leaders, 2 points behind with the same number of games played and we play them on the last game of the season!
