Nice to see you reporting on wins again!
:) It feels good too. We have dropped down to division 2 this season and the boys are getting their confidence back. Great to see them trooping off at the end with beaming smiles rather than their heads hanging.

Good result for Harry this morning with a 4-0 win over Lammie's Heavitree Comets. In the end Blues won at something of a canter, which was a bit of a blessing with so many of them either feeling the effects of illness or injury. Plus, after last week's great win over St Martins it was good to see the boys stay focused and not let complacency take over.

Not the greatest game ever seen, but in the end it was the result that mattered more.

Five wins out of five for Harry this morning with a 6-2 win over Pinhoe. Very blowy today, the ball was going all over the place and it showed with Blues only being the one goal to the good at half time.

But with one of the lads helping himself to a five minute hat trick at the start of the second half the game was done and dusted with 25 minutes still to go. And so the silly buggers switched off and let Pins get two back, but they woke up and got another two themselves to finish up comfortable winners.

We were dreadful yesterday against Sidmouth. Looked half asleep from the off and were quickly 2-0 down. Our goalie then brought down their striker, who was clean through on goal, for a nailed on penalty. The ref asked the Sidmouth manager if he wanted our goalie sent off, but he didn't - still, I guess you can afford to be charitable when you are 3-0 up.

We woke up a bit at the start of the second half and pulled one back. We wasted so many chances and I really believe that, if we had got back to 3-2 we could have nicked a point, but then we gave away another sloppy goal and from then there was no way back. Sidmouth ran out 6-1 winners, but the scoreline flattered them really.

Up the M3 to Sunbury. The grandstand of Kempton racecourse in view.

The team got off to a gallop, dominating all areas of the pitch, and within 10 minutes one of the strikers had a hat-trick. Easily 9-0 up at half time. Second half my son's team slowed to a trot, and the Staines team fought a lot harder. Game finished 11-0.

Footy two days running for Harry as Blues play their first ever Devon Cup game away to Ivybridge. Playing on a pudding pitch with rusty goals and two inch deep puddles in the patch of mud masquerading as a goal mouth, it was like stepping back into the 70s turning up at Sparkwell this afternoon!

And any fears about unknown opposition, travelling to just outside Plymouth and playing on consecutive days were allayed in the first couple of minutes as Blues found themselves 4-0 up on the quarter hour eventually running out easy 9-0 (there should be a one in front of that nine) winners and securing a home tie against either Plymstock or Torridgeside - again two sides I have never heard of and two sides we know nothing about.

Still, a 15-2 aggregate this weekend will do for me.

Probably the performance of the season for both Harry and Blues yesterday morning away at Crediton. With five boys out, Blues were down to a bare 11 so went into the game on Crediton's big pitch, on a very hot morning, knowing they had no substitutes and everyone would be needed to put a big effort in.

And boy did they! Going behind for the first time this season, the boys dug deep and just got better and better the longer the game went on, eventually running out 5-1 winners. They were utterly dead on their feet by the time they came off - such is the nature of rolling subs three of the lads hadn't played a full 70 minutes this season yet - but they stcuk at, fought for everything and battled as a team together.

Triffic stuff.

Brilliant morning for the Dynamoes at Brixington United yesterday. Brixington had a very early goal disallowed for offside which woke us up. Halftime we were 2-0 up and we never looked back. A nice 6-1 win, with Brixington's only goal coming from the penalty spot.

Brixington really need to have a lesson on the offside rule - I lost count of how many times the flag went up.

Very bad taste in the mouth today with Blues drawing 1-1 with an excellent Stoke Hill side. One of the best games seen in a long time with both sets of boys playing as though their lives depended on it. Blues took the lead in the first half, then Stoke Hill equalised with five minutes to go when a corner went straight in.

Blues thought they'd stolen a winner two minutes later converting a low drilled cross to the far post, but as the boys turned to celebrate the Stoke Hill linesman on the far side suddenly raised his flag to disallow the goal for offside.

I bloody hate it when people cannot accept their kids getting beaten, and when you have to spoil a superb game like that with actions like that, well you have to have a long hard look at yourself at what you think you're trying to achieve here. Bloody shame, cos it was a real cracker of a game too.

A fantastic 11-1 win for us yesterday at home to Bradninch. The boys were terrific. Lovely to see them enjoying their football again - second in the league now with a game in hand. Big match away at Colyton next Saturday though - first vs second.
