Not sure that's right malcs, if they really didn't think he was 'worth the punt', wouldn't they have let him go out on loan at the beginning of the season rather than keep him in and around the first team squad? Seems more likely to me that Monk was playing the long game with Grimes, perhaps looking at him as a direct replacement for Britton at the end of the season, either way they are unlikely to recoup much immediately if he hasn't been playing. I think it more likely he will go out on loan in January, put himself in the shop window and/or prove himself at Championship level.The reality is that the manager who bought him was unwilling to play him, so a new manager would be more likely to want to clear out and bring some new players in...that's they way it works.... It would appear that he hasn't done enough to persuade them that he is worth the punt, so I suspect they will be looking to recoup as much of the money as they can in a sell on.....
