Delighted for him well deserved and he has certainly made his doubters eat their words. Turned 24 mid this month and would not discount the possibility of him eventually adding a full England cap to the ones he won at U20s and U21s level.
How many other former City players have ever had England call-ups? Think all of Grimes, Watkins, Stacey and maybe Storey have the possibility of getting one in the future.

Vince Hillaire? Although I think he played for England before playing for City.

The obvious two who started their careers at City and went on to gain full England Caps are Dick Pym and Cliff Bastin. In the category of players who won England Caps before they arrived at SJP probably the most notable is Gerry Francis (although the time he spent here as player/manager is probably best forgotten ).

The first player to gain a full international Cap whilst at City was Dermot Curtis for the Irish Republic, and more recently there is of course Joel Grant for Jamaica. In the category of City players who went on to gain international caps for other countries you have the likes of Eric Welsh (Northern Ireland), Jamie Mackie (Scotland), and Ethan Ampadu (Wales). Ethan could well have gained one whilst still here, but had to withdraw from the Welsh squad in order to take his GCSEs !

Edit Damn the bleddy exeweb censorship 'Pincher' Pym ! Get it sorted Hantisthorpe !

Forte represented England at youth levels before full caps - albeit not many - for Barbados. You could also argue Gosling for Gib too.

Didn't Dwane Lee win caps
Whilst with us also (apologies if Dwane isn't spelt correctly, can't remember how he spelt it)?

Johnny Nicholls joined City from Cardiff in 1957. Two caps for England in 1954 while playing for WBA.
