Friends - no matter how many times I watch reruns I still laugh
Waterloo road - never watched it from the beginning but they are currently showing reruns on CBS drama
Trollied - brilliant comedy on sky one
Moone Boy - another great comedy on sky one
Dream Team - will always be my most favourite series of all time, never missed an episode and have a few DT actors following me on twitter. Even won some DT goodies last year.
Game of Thrones - Westeros is ruled over by King Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy.) Thoughout the land there are key families or Houses controlling land. Some loyal to the king some not. King dies. Fight for power. Throw in a supernatural threat, 100million characters, a bit of medival swashbuckling and you have a cracking show. Played by a mainly British cast, Sean Bean, Jerome Flynn, Kit Harrington. Even yours truely was meant to be in the latest series! Top top show.
The Walking Dead - Police Sheriff enters coma. Police Sheriff exits coma. Everywhere is littered with zombies. What I like about this is that you really have no idea what is going to happen in each episode. The unprectable nature of the zombies (and sometimes humans) can often lead to interesting struggles. Some of the characters are really likeable, you really want to see them survive. Kids will like it for the zombie gore fest, therefore it can be a bit 'silly' at times but the story carries greater weight.
Firefly - a series aired 10 years ago on FOX then dropped after the first series. Was meant to be the first of many series so a hastly released movie 'Serenity' was sent out a few years later to close the main story....the film was ok at best. The series on the other hand is nothing short of fantastic. A small crew on the spaceship Serenity make their living travelling the galaxy and transporting goods. This can sometimes get them in trouble so the series follows their actions in avoiding the authorities, criminals and the scum of the universe while they try to make a living. Brilliant show, and it really makes you wonder why it was dropped by FOX in 2002. It turns out that FOX showed the episodes on different days of the week (remember, little internet or 'series link') and were shown OUT OF ORDER. The long running back story made no sense to the viewers at the time.
Breaking Bad - School Science Teacher has a gift for being bloody good at Chemistry. School Science Teacher faces financial problems and in his frustration with how the good, honest hard worker cannot provide for his family. He turn to making crystal meth to sell on the streets. The highest quality crystal meth in the world. As you can imagine that in itself packs some serious heat. It moves along very slow, very very slow. You soon get used to the pace though and it becomes very enjoyable. Walter White, the teacher in question is almost like the Basil Fawlty of the drug chemist world getting frustrated with himself, the world, and his 'business partner' Jesse Pinkman.
Sons of Anarchy - Motorcycle 'Club' set in the fictional town of Charming (based on Oakland. CA.) Shakespears' Hamlet on Harleys. Brilliant. Much of it is what you'd expect. Guns, drugs, bikes, rock and roll. Much of the story is based on young prodigy Jax, his confusion of the direction of the MC and the strings he pulls to make it what he wants. Ron Perlman plays a brilliant Clay Morrow, the head of the MC.
Dexter - Don't take this one too seriously. It's still good though. Miami Metro Police blood splatter (think CSI) analyst Dexter Morgan is one of the best in the business. It's partly down to his alter-ago and other life being a serial killer of those criminals the justice system cannot prosecute. At first it's fantastic. You really warm to his character. As the seasons progress though you see Dexter dig himself into holes he cannot get out of and how his two lives intersect and clash in the worst way possible.
Vikings - a newish series by the History Channel. Yes, the History Channel. It follows in the footsteps of Norseman Ragnar Lothbrok and his band of followers as they seek riches to the west and a life much better for themselves and their families. Based very loosely on Viking tradition and known stories. Very enjoyable.
