With all the Ryan Harley talk, I realised that he overtook Scott Hiley as my favourite ever City player while working wonders with us at three different levels in our recent Golden Years. Was so important creatively that he left a massive gap when he left.
So I was wondering who are your favourite ever City players? Not the ones you think were the best (so no arguments, it's entirely subjective), but the ones you liked the most, for whatever reason. For example, while I think Christian Roberts was the most technically gifted and exciting player to watch I have ever seen with a City shirt on, he isn't among my top 5 players. Players like Hiley and Rob Edwards will always mean more to me than him because of the (cliche alert) 110% they gave for the club I love. David Wheeler is in there because he is mates with my nephews having grown up with them, and because he seems to have a very strong symbolism regarding the new younger team with their fresh enthusiasm. It will also depend on how old you are or how long you have been following the mighty Grecians. My first game was in 1970/71. And of course, I may have forgotten someone.
So here are my Top Ten
1 Ryan Harley
2 Scott Hiley
3 Alan Beer
4 Tony Kellow
5 Rob Edwards
6 Steve Neville
7 Richard Logan
8 Jamie Cureton
9 David Wheeler
10 Christian Roberts
