We gifted them several great opportunities and were lucky to escape unscathed, dire first half couldn't get the ball down and play through mid-field.Second half saw Law make himself known to the opposition and turned the game around beautiful movement and passing for the first goal, sorry to disagree Pete but no keeper could have saved that he didn't stand a chance.
That spelled the end for Cambridge although they still at times looked good going forward. Gratifyingly the "Flipper" smashed in the second for a solid win puts us 6 points above the rest and still in touch of Swindon. UTC

Another clean sheet, another home win and another fantastic interview from the manager with his usual mix of no-nonsense honesty and intelligent and thoughtful answers.

First half was awful but don't know if that reflected by second half being more in control. Mentioned earlier the wind and don't know if the reason we lumped it forward so much in the first half to control the territory battle.
Good 3 points and that's all that really matters. Great to finish with so many academy graduates on the pitch

We were quicker to the ball in the second half and got on the front foot more. This meant Nicky Law got in the game and we got on the ball more in their final third with much more support available. Although Cambridge came closest at the start of the second half when they hit the post.

Great move for the first goal with some first time passing from Martin and Williams getting Law in behind. Good finish from Bowman with his weight going back. It looked from my angle that he guided the ball into the corner beyond the keeper, will have to see.

Came close to adding a second with Law and Collins going close. Also rode our luck when Richardson got caught by the corner flag and Cambridge missed a rare chance.

Second goal killed the game, good finish from Williams after Cambridge made a mess of defending Sweeney's angled ball. This then allowed a good cameo for Joel Randall and another league debutant in Ben Chrisene.

Parkes and Aaron Martin the pick today over 90 minutes.

Good to see that Jonny has taken on board our goalkeeping guru's advice and today he was catching rather than punching.
Presumably at this very moment he is working on on his critique of his performance today which we along with Jonny await with interest.

Nowhere near the corner, although the keeper must have thought that since he dived over it.

Having just seen the Sky Sports evidence it wasn't right in the corner, but was past the keeper before his outstretched hand could react. Good finish with a better connection than it looked at the time. Not much the keeper could do.

There was still one poorly directed punch.
