"They just can't seem to bridge that gap between the top half of the table and the play-offs but Paul (Tidsdale) has done a fantastic job down there.

"I'm probably a season or two behind him in the pecking order in terms of trying to build my own squad.

"If you let them dictate the tempo they can cause you problems and if you sit off them then there's no doubt they'll win the game."

He seems to be resigned to a difficult afternoon!
