Disgraceful stewards at end of game

And in this world of health and safety bollox, did you not think that maybe, just maybe, allowing it would only take a couple of pricks from either side to cause a riot. It's not rocket science boys. Get the small contingent of Soton fans out the way and hold us for a couple of minutes or get us lot out first and hold the small contingent of Soton fans for 10/15 minutes. Who's going to get the most agitated? Common sense, simple common sense.
Totally agree Ian

I prefer Southampton fans gobbing off to having hear our own 'fans' booing players and telling Tisdale how to do his job!

Anyways, the away fans are all money for the club and, it seems, we very much need it!

Totally agree about away fans being ejected if they have chosen to sit or stand in the wrong part of the ground.

I was quite amused to see three Saints fans being led out of the OG, one forcibly, by some burly Exeter security (the Police just watched as usual - what are they paid to do?)

The Police dont act to remove anyone from the ground without being asked to do so by the stewards etc until that point its down to the club not the Police.

Happy to clear things up.

ah ..i think that might have been me. not amused in any way shape or form especially as i was threatened with eviction for my part in the fiasco. i am however considering the need to attend sjp in the future as i dont need the crap i got from our stewards. not a good day for me i think i saw what the city supporters are thought of ....we are pretty much considered a pain in the ass !!

In the bank on saturday v's southhampton standing side by side with saints fans hurling crap at us for ages so a dig back at em from me was inevitable. That was not a problem for me ...the problem was our stewards who threatened to evict me for doing so. BIG BANK is supposed to be our stand, if those saints fans wernt there there would have been no problem to start with. Getting really tired of being treated like sh*t by my own club and its officials.

Agree TOTALLY the MDG! Was going to post in a similar vein myself (before too much lager kicked in).

3/4 of the BB was packed ram-jam solid while the "special VIP enclosure" was sparsely populated by the invading Saints.

Most were reasonably ok but there was one particularly obnoxious specimen (with a hideous, braying "Mockney" accent who was giving it the billy-big-bollox verbals all through the game - or at least, up to the point of Matty T's equaliser! :) ). When someone on the GRECIAN side of the 'red and white tape barrier' finally gave him a bit of gob back, guess who the stewards went for. Yep, you've deduced it, Sherlock :(
Furthermore, when challenged about their presence on the BB, said steward replied:"They bought a ticket so they're entitled to be here". Now, I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong here, but I'd always believed that BLATANT infiltration of designated home areas of stadia by away fans was actually against the law. Obviously, if they get in (and are a bit discrete) no-one would know or mind, but when they start giving it large then surely they are identifiable AND SHOULD, AT THE VERY LEAST, BE ESCORTED FROM THE GROUND!

Instead, both during and after the match they were treated like royalty while we (not for the first time at SJP) were treated like f*cking sh*t! - I still remember with festering bitterness that evening when, at the last minute, the Scum were given one third of the BB a few years back.

The club would do well to remember that it is the majority of US who have kept turning up (and "TRUSTING" in the club) all these years through thick and thin (and sometimes even thinner) - not the infrequent visitors from the occasional ex Prem fancy dans.
And the stewards/security might also care to consider that it is OUR contributions, week in/week out pays for their matchday expenses.

Sorry for the rant, but it truly did rankle today to stand in OUR big bank and be treated almost like an unwanted intruder.

Unhappily yours

G2k

PS: I sincerely hope that no GRECIAN was refused entry to the BB on account of the fact that (3/4 of) it was full up today, btw!

Top rant. spot on

I got asked for proof of identity while queuing to go in, I didn't have any so they asked where I lived. I said Cornwall and they asked if we were Southampton fans!

The club has demonstrated yet again that they cannot handle the bigger games. Why the hell were home fans prevented from leaving the big bank (Well St exit)at the end of the game?

I was physically manhandled by a number of stewards who were preventing us from leaving so that the Soton fans that had infiltrated the big bank could be treated like VIPs and let out first.

The stewards were determined to make us go out the stadium way exit. Now i have been to a lot of away games over the years and have been held in grounds after games on many occaisions but always as an away fan. You expect this if it is a big game.

It seems our club are happy to p*ss off their own fans but treat infiltrators like royalty. I THOUGHT WE OWNED OUR FOOTBALL CLUB? IT FELT MORE LIKE SOTON OWNED IT TODAY.

I have written to the Frances Farley and have demanded an apology for the way home fans were treated. I am not holding my breath for a sensible reply.
I doubt you'll even get a reply
