This "rumour" is at odds with the BBC website then.

In an item dated 5th May last;

Dean Bowditch, Nathan Smith, Adam Virgo, Andy Welsh, Craig Alcock, Alex Russell and Billy Gibson have all been handed new deals.
Yeah but have they accepted these "deals"?

Which means that the players that you have mentioned Pete are in the same position as Noble, Cureton, Nardiello and Taylor at ECFC. There is many a slip twixt cup and lip.

I'm with those that say that if Curo doesn't sign then Bowditch would be ideal for us.

Different type of player but as he's left sided, strong and can play either as a striker or attacking midfielder I think he'd fit in well anyway.

If there is a genuine chance of him coming to us, I'd say let Cureton go with our thanks and best wishes.

According to some on the Football Forum, Bowditch is after a move closer to his family in the East of the country. Colchester and Orient interested too apparently.

I think he would be a great signing though, if we could pull it off...
