I think the fact that Gwinnett has gone to MK as PT's assistant bears out the fact we didnt need a GK coach anymore. As I've previously said, Pym was beyond the point where he needed a dedicated coach. There was nothing more to be learned!

Was this why you were suggesting he be dropped for the play-off final?

I think that was a “whoosh”. Obviously all professional clubs have goalkeeping coaches. There’s a separate Uefa qualification for gk coaches. What happens when the outfield players are doing drills in training not requiring a gk? They do their own specialist training. Just watch the warm up keepers do before every game for an idea of how detailed it is. It’s not like when I played where someone just hammered shots at the keeper.

I was being sarcastic. I think if you told a goalkeeper at a top club that they weren't going to receive any coaching anymore, they'd be off at the next opportunity.
