Didn't know that. I don't really use UCLU nor ULU, but I've probably seen you in there without realising that a fellow Grecian was in my midst!Same deal at ULU, I work there every Saturday and it doesn't achieve anything like the usage one might expect.
Just for interest then what is UCLs student union turnover? I personally think that currently at that end of town, if a bar was fitted out in the correct manner it would be surprising how many students you would get going 'their' local. There certainly isn't anywhere near the same level of competition in that area as there is around UCL's union. Take your point about the exponential growth in the number of foreign students coming to our universities that is a fact, but that is where I think having a decent food menu, possibly with tailored sections to niche markets (student nationality groups, one obvious group in particular) if need be, would take up the slack to achieve the figure I mentioned. Anyway my pencil is sharp enough thank you, in fact I keep stabbing myself with it!!Nice thought but a pal of mine runs UCLs student union, their intake is in the region of 22,000 each year, most of whom live within a sparrows cough of the union building, unfortunately, as would be the case more and more going forward, a high proportion of those students are foreign and don't use the facilities in the way domestic students would.
If I might suggest a smaller fag packet and a sharper pencil.
A lot, he ain't gonna tell me and I certainly wouldn't ask, I do know that they have wasted huge amounts on trying to target the ethnics to no avail, they don't do socialising, the big money comes from the 'specials', hiring some of the bigger clubs for party nights and such, brings in a fortune, but only from the same clientele, they also suffer big time the further into the year, no money and exams make Jack and Jill pretty dull students.Just for interest then what is UCLs student union turnover?
Laugh ?probably more interesting to a returning fan of a 'large' club, who arguably put their personal safety on the line to watch their team.
