I'll take the hit for this one. Not over-confident, but never mind. In caretakers we trust.

If we're 3-0 down remember 1977. That is all.

Looking forward to going to a new ground. Not sure what to expect from our team, hopefully they're looking to impress Kev.

Not feeling over optimistic about today and I reckon a draw is the most we can hope for.

Still, I suppose it's another week closer to getting some central defenders (and Dieng) back fit.

Record vs Barnsley @ Oakwell - 1️⃣ win, 4️⃣ draws, 5️⃣ loses.

Record @ SJP - 8️⃣ wins, 0️⃣ draws, 2️⃣ loses.

- Home advantage was the key for the games between 1964 to 1981.

- Our first meeting for 41 years!

I’m certainly travelling in hope rather than expectation today, new ground for me. Hope the lads can relax and enjoy the experience, with them and Kev getting our full backing. And then if they can sneak a point I’ll be bloody delighted.

Will be interesting to see if the caretaker manager plays it safe with selection or, thinking he's got nothing to lose, does something unexpected like play Kegs from the start or pick Ed James in defence.

I'm looking forward to the trip ...
This will be the first ground I've visited for both a City & Newcastle league game.
Barnsley will also become the first team I've seen both home & away vs the two clubs.

Barnsley have struggled in the games I've watched in fact:
The first time I saw Barnsley play at St. James Park they lost 6-1.
The first time I saw Barnsley play at St. James Park' they lost 6-1.

... so good it happened twice :)

In the four Barnsley games I've seen they have only scored twice & conceded 17.

Hope Barnsley's poor results continue today.
