OK - we got away with it, in the sense that noone was seriously hurt or lost their life.

But if those in charge don't now put their hands up, take responsibility, learn something from this, and do something differently next time......then it's a disaster just waiting to happen at some point in the future.

Headliner - a serious question to you and other Leeds fans.

What do you do when you go to Millwall??? They gave you less tickets for the play off match last May than we gave you yesterday. Did you all go and buy one in the home parts of the ground?
To be honest, I'm 45 now and sit in the man stand at ER, paying 30 quid for the pleasure, and have a different perspective on football now. A visit to Arsenal in the 90's was a watershed in my 'obsessive' days when a friend was stabbed within metres of me, that and the boredom of the Premiership era I guess. Millwall I can do without - and I numerous contacts who can get tickets in the home end for that one - as I seriously don't want the hassle.

I'm sure only a few Leeds were in the Milwall end for the PO's, but we are talking a completely different ball game; there is little sanity or pleasure derived from sitting expressionless and nervously walking a hate filled street. If you understand our fanbase you will know that many towns from all over the country have pockets of support (I am loate to admit it but we have similarities to how the Manchester United fanbase is composed, though on a slightly smaller scale, with a huge percentage of our support from outside the city) and I'd guess a good number of whites from the west country may have been in attendance and in the home end. It's an opportunity to see a team you may not see regularly. Yeovil had a similar 'problem' with us last season and did not like it either.

I really don't have an issue with away support being in the home ends, as local fans will get their tickets if they follow the club regularly and these away fans are simply bringing funds to your club, but acknowledge that at lower league grounds many may act with perceived arrogance and bravado that you would not find visiting the bigger stadia where a slap would be likely.

The away end is obviously woefully below an acceptable standard, especially if we want to continue at this level and clearly it needs resolving. However this will take time. Surely the bigger issue is the actual supervision at the park. .Surely the away end would have coped if there was no late influx of fans from police escorted coaches and the home end. I find it hard to understand why this is still happening today at SJP. It just seems that the whole day was extremely badly planned.

You can be sure that D & C Constabulary will not accept blame but will pass it back to the Club. This will mean higher policing bills and restrictions equalling more money to D & C and more overtime opportunities. Hopefully, the referees inspector or other FL league representatives will not include it in their reports and we can put it down to experience. However, if we are going to continue in hosting these games clearly something has to be done,[/QUOTE]

Fail to see how it was the fault of the Police, the club should of made room before allowing the extra fans to enter.

wating for the next penalty
Sure the police will pass the blame onto the club as they are only interested in speeding drivers and underage drinking.
Didnt go to the match as was ill, whoever has made a decision to move supporters from the BB to the full away end must be breathing a sigh of relief today.
Having witnessed similar things at other grounds around the country, it has usually ended with people getting hurt by people already in the areas thatr they are being moved to.
Reducing the amount of tickets sold for that area must be considered as safety is paramount to people paying money to watch football at our ground.

Reducing tickets for what area?

So what do we do different for the Leeds game next season? Open up the old entrance in Well Street that hasn't been used for years.

Yesterday was a joke, first the police held up supporters coaches which did not arrive at the ground until 5 mins before kick-off, then to have 1 turnstile to get the hundreds of fans in was inadequate. I got into the ground about 3pm after the kick-off and could see the crush building up. Not only was it bad inside the ground there was a crush developing outside the ground. I managed to work my way down the stand but the tanoy announcement was not audible in the Leeds end. All in all very woeful and dangerous. Most leeds fans were unaware of what was happening to the right of them.

That stand should not be in use ase it is uneven and dangerous, it also has a drop along the terracing and if the crush had moved towards this then a lot of people would have fallen and then you would have had problems.

[ARSEY PEDANT MODE]'Should have' not 'should of', you seem to have got confused because the contraction is 'should've'[/ARSEY PEDANT MODE] :p ;)

The police were at fault because they held 15 coaches at Exeter services until quarter past two. Any idiot can work out that to get that many people from there to SJP in time for kick off is just not workable.
