Is there a walkway in the away end or do you have to walk through the crowd?

Shouldn't have let the leeds fans move from home end to the away end, just kick them out if they bought tickets for the wrong part of the ground.

At the end of the day, the Leeds fans that were in the BB shouldn't have been allowed to come back into the ground.Simple. If there was room in the away end then more tickets should have been available, then this could have been avoided. Another question that can be raised is why do big time Leeds think they can come and try and invade our stands, if we were to do that in an away game we would be ejected without the option of being allowed back in. Bad decisions by City at the end of the day, could have been a lot worse today, thankfully it wasn't.
I don't have a problem with away fans going in the home end if there end is sold out but if they do then they should just shut up and not make it obvious they're leeds fans.

And also Leeds fans that didn't have tickets were following behind the fans that were just ejected from the BB and being talen over to the away end, so that was even more fans.

I believe there's a walkway at the back of the away end. Not sure if there's one at the front, fans always seem to be leaning on the perimeter fence so if there is it isn't enforced.

The back step by the wall is classed as a walk way but fans were stood there, announcements were made and I saw stewards go to the back, think they cleared a few.

I've been in the away end a couple of times, Brentford and Southend with bucket collections, Brentford was a lot more difficult getting in and around fans as it was alot busier.

Would imagine, once the pitch is moved, then the away end can be started on and improved

Agree the situation that developed was very nasty but the OP (and some following comments) was a sad reflection on humanity...disgraceful attitude to innocent people in danger coming to watch a football match. Yes I'm sure the same comments would have arisen if the roles were reversed but how some peoples minds are warped by football tribalism sickens me at times like this.

Er excuse me but this is an entertainment industry. You buy a ticket and go and watch a game. Leeds support were obviously more keen to watch the game than some local fans and made an effort to get tickets for home sections. What is the problem with that? I'm going to watch a football match, not rape your daughter. We have plenty of away supporters who sit in our main stand, simply as the view is better, though in recent years the alloaction we have given has been perfectly satisfactory. 'Invade our stands' - laughable. Lose your 1980's mindset, stop falling for media bullsh*t and you may enjoy football a bit more.

As a Leeds fan who was there today and behind the goal can I say that there has been some disgraceful comments made here today about this. Perhaps if you bothered to avail yourself of the facts then you would see some sense.

At 12.50 today the police began escorting coaches to the Exeter services where several conversations took place with the police there and an inspector came from the ground to the services. He informed us that 15 coaches would be escorted in at 2pm to 2.15pm on what he said was a 5 minute trip. It actually took over 30 minutes.

He also informed us that a plan had been devised between Exeter City FC and Devon & Cornwall Police which included the above timings. He also informed us that the TWO turnstiles that would be open could only deal with 450 people per hour to which simple mathematics were pointed out to him that 15 coaches equates to roughly 750 people and he was specifically asked the question as to whether nothing had been learned since Hillsbrough?, as the possibility of a crush was very evident.

On arriving at the ground one of the turnstile operaters had his 18/24 month old daughter sat in his booth but I got in very easily and I stood behind the goal.

Now the stewards were only bothered about forcing fans into the front section as the back of the stand is designated a no go area for fans and having just watched the brief highlights on BBC just now I can only assume that the spaces you could see were at the back were we weren't allowed to stand because from where I was the whole stand was full.
The police and stewards were totally ineffectual at this time.

Now it was good to watch the video on YouTube as it's the first time I've heard the tannoy announcements because I certainly didn't hear them behind the goal so all those giving kneekerk reactions to 'mindless idiots' and such like should apologise but they won't be man enough.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of fans buying tickets in home ends it was your club that breached the safety certificate of the ground by allowing more fans from other stands to join in what was supposedly a sold out end.

No doubt many of you will discount all of this, that's up to you but it was a right royal c*ck up caused by the plan put into place by Exeter City FC and Devon & Cornwall police. How sad so many made their minds up without knowing the facts.
