I read Bob Monkhouse's autobiography a few weeks ago and that story is in there

Bob Monkhouse could be a bit cheeky when he wasn’t on mainstream television.
I recall him saying once that although some people have mirrored ceilings in their bedroom he had a mirrored floor in his bathroom.
Unfortunately it apparently put him off Brussels sprouts for life!

Saw him live many years ago in cabaret at a club that used to be on A303 not far from Honiton he was very funny and to my surprise to say the least very blue
