I'm surmising that they have been "guided" to add 30 seconds for each sub, booking, goal celebration etc. regardless of context, taking away their judgement about time-wasting etc. You certainly used to get managers whining at the ref and 4th official if their team was behind and wanted lots of extra time (Lincoln in the PO SF?), but if the ref thought they'd been naughty boys he might not be minded to let them profit. Now this may be almost part of the standard game. If so we (ECFC) need to "get with the programme".Sorry for the slow reply John I've been away. Thanks for that information, very interesting. So it seems that the unofficial drinks stops that took place when someone was injured are almost official now. Obviously coaches quickly make any points they want to get across during the break. How long will it be before each team can call a 90 second timeout in each half, similar to what they do in Basket Ball and the NFL?
