In some cases, yes.
In some cases not then.

It's very important that nurses and teachers can do their jobs without stress. Such stress could be monetary or associated with workload (assuming we think patient care and education are important). I can't comment much about pay scales, cost of living etc in the UK now, but what I can say is that if we are struggling to maintain public services pre-Brexit, how are we going to survive post-Brexit. The UK is not a big player any more, we became a big player on the back of colonizing half the world, which made us very wealthy. That's all gone, along with our manufacturing/export base. You know, we are now just a wet and windy island which is sliding down the league table. I think we have to realise that, stop feeling that as a nation we are entitled, kick ourselves up the arse, and sort it out.

perhaps everybody who wants "properly" funded public services should vote for increasing taxes to pay for it...........
They are beginning to vote for it, hence the current hiatus within cabinet.

If nurses etc really feel so hard done by perhaps they should make a few changes.
They are, they're quitting in record numbers.

A couple of mates of mine are personal trainers, both have been to university, both work relatively hard, 40 - 50 hours a week however after costs one is earning around 15k, the other just under 20k, neither have pension plans.

Is a personal trainer entitled to earn more ?

You think so Tavy ?, I hope you are right but all I see is the north voting the way they always do, and a lot of students and young people in the south marginally changing voting patterns there. Not sure any of this is to do with anybody voting for tax increases to pay for core public services though ?

In short, no.

In long form, not at an early stage in their career. The bulk of personal trainers will only earn a maximum of 20k, that's even if they can get work at all. Last time I spoke to a friend of mine who was one he said there was a massive surplus of people doing the training. The upside of course is if you do well and go on to specialise in something like sports nutrition or get a wealthy client then you can make mountains of cash. My friend now does personal training for people who work in the city, and never makes less than 6 figures in a year.

Bottom line is nurses save lives. Personal trainers don't.

The reaction of Gove, Hunt, Johnson and now Hammond seems to imply they think it's a vote winner.
