Mark Molesley Returns to Aldershot

Aldershot Town have announced that they have signed Mark Molesley. In a busy few days for the Shots, ahead of their molesley_featopening Skrill Conference Premier game away to Grimsby, they are making a number of signings as they deal with the fallout of being administration.

Molesley was released by Paul Tisdale at the end of the season, a player that if he’d had the budget Tisdale would probably have kept on. Molesley could be full of energy and had quite a combatant style. He had 2 great games for the Grecians last season, first at Morecambe, then at Port Vale where he was sent off for retaliation. However, on the flip side, his performance in the Devon derby at Home Park was really poor.

He played 11 games for the Grecians, having come to us from Plymouth Argyle. In fact he played in both the Exeter/Argyle games, the first game for Argyle the second for Exeter.

Shots manager Manager Andy Scott speaking on the Aldershot official website said:-

Mark’s a fantastic lad, he’s fitted in very well. He’s very enthusiastic and a good player. We hope that he’ll bring us goals from midfield, energy, experience and enthusiasm, a knowledge of the League that we’re going into, and the ability to make people around him play well.mark_m3_thumb

Mark Molesley said of his move-

I’m no stranger to the place, and have fond memories here. Aldershot gave me my first professional contract, which is something I will always remember and treasure, and they’ll always be close to my heart.

This is a challenge I’m looking forward to getting my teeth into. The fans and everybody here have done marvellously well to keep the Club going, they’ve had a real fight on their hands. Now it’s up to the players to show that same fight. Make no bones about it, we’re in a dog fight here and we need people to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.

This is how we welcomed Mark to St James Park. http://www.exeweb.com/2013/01/18/hello-to-mark-molesley/
