Why is the SJP/Covid thread locked?

Agreed.
It's probably because it kept going off-topic, although trying to discuss when we would return to SJP without mentioning Covid-19 is a little pointless. Given the number of views and responses, it was clearly a popular topic. If people didn't want to follow it they could simply ignore it.
