Pier House, Westward Ho! on Monday for a meal with the family. Had a pint of Angelo Poretti.

Tap & Brew, Old Town, Swindon.

A former shop that has had the interior 'distressed' and high tubular seating with which to view it.

It's saving grace is a myriad of brews that fit comfortably in a pint glass.

Often a quaffable pint from Hop Kettle Brewers - and if you don't much like sitting on a tube, Stuffers, try @ Red Lion, Cricklade ? (y)

I used to frequent the Red Lion occasionally when I lived in Avening. We used it as a meeting point for friends from the Cirencester area and Swindon area. Top pub. Is that your local Elgin?

Being 5 miles away, not my local, AP. Like yourself, an occasional punter. Annual beer festival with brewery on the premises is always worth a visit. They are also known to dish out free roasties on a Sunday lunchtime - which always reminds me of the good old days watching the 6 Nations in the Great Western Hotel !

I drove through Cricklade a fortnight ago but the place looked deserted. When stationed at RAF Fairford our favourite watering hole was the 'The George' at nearby Kempsford where the new Landlord/chef and his wife are one of my son's best Mates.

Turnpike or the White Horse?

Great Western by St David's Station? Last season we openly laughed at some Bristol Bear fans who claimed the ref cheated them when he gave Exeter that last minute try. Poor losers.

GWH near St David’s. England games and the Landlord would bring out a large tray of heavily salted roasties - made for thirsty work ! Kerching.

I'm not tempted by the pub experience at the mo. However I did grab a noseful of 'daytime pub smell' as I happened to pass the side door of some boozer in Bideford earlier.
