I wonder whether Harry Kite starting and playing 60+ minutes means that he is being lined up for a loan to Weymouth...

Blooming hope not. Want to see him fighting for a spot in the matchday squad.

Matty Jay seems to be benefitting as a result of MT's elevation. Players thrive when they know their Manager has real faith in them as a player and I think MT will give Jay the freedom to push on this season. Will be interesting to see if Forte or Jay start the season alongside Stockley?

Sounds like Oates is not having the best of games....
Oates was one of a few I saw play for the first time tonight. I thought he did more than OK at this early stage and clearly has potential. He read the game well and regularly found forwards with long balls, which were clearly meant - as opposed to just 'hoofed' up front which we have been known to do sometimes. He often went wide in successfully looking for the ball, and usually used the ball well in linking-up. There were a couple of times I did wonder if he lacked a little pace (rather than fitness), but that could have been me viewing from the other end of the pitch.

Boateng: different class. MOM for me.

Overall, a solid team performance by all against an average (but not poor) Weymouth side. Kite and Sparkes grew into the game as it went on - they will make it for sure and it's a matter of time, opportunity and taking their chance when it comes.
