Stubbs did well out of his stay at City, two seasons on a good wage and all his treatment paid for. Good player when fit but certainly no tears from me on his departure.

Stubbs gave us plenty of quality when he was fit,and played a big part in us going up to league one,so I wish him well at Bradford city

GC said he couldn't guarantee him regular game time... Interesting
indeed. For me, Stubbs was, when fit, first choice amongst our array of central defenders, ahead of Sweenz,Hartridge,Cheikh etc.

I think Stubbs' involvement in recent match day squads was an astute move on GC's part. It put the player in the shop window when I wonder how close Stubbs really is to match fitness.

He's a big guy whose game depends on his physicality, coming back to playing regularly will take time and will be tough for him.

I really wish him well but this move is a good one for City

I loved those three months Stubbs played for us. But he was a dead weight. GC has done the right thing to move him on.

Mixed feelings about this. Stubbs was great, in fact he was brilliant when he played, but he simply wasn't fit enough to justify keeping him. He basically played less than half a season in 2 years with us.

If he plays consistently now for Bradford then part of me will feel a bit annoyed.

Great player but unfortunately the injuries are too big a risk for us. I hope he pushes on later in his career

City did pretty well out of it too. Not sure we'd be in League One now without those appearances last season; Sam was a key part in transforming a team which looked like it might be struggling to make the play-offs into by far the best team in the division over the second half of the season. I hope he gets over his injuries and has a long and successful career.

Totally agree, I don’t believe we’d have been promoted if it wasn’t for Stubbs and Cheick coming in in January. Not many games, but a season-defining impact. We were good for him but he was definitely good for us. I wish him well.
