The 3rd home game in a week & the afternoon midweek KO,also the 3 day week,resulted in the poor attendance

The Grecians had Wilson,Parker,Scott & Binney all injured for that game..Wolves went on to win the League Cup that season.

Thanks Olds. I had totally forgotten that it was such a mauling. I stayed out of those subways and I remember running through stationary traffic and jumping over a barrier to get across the road. I was very innocent after the WBA game. We came out of the ground in very high spirits, singing with joy. That didn't last long! Suddenly we were surrounded by young lads in their late teens and 20's who started kicking and punching us. We legged it! A sharp lesson learned. I never got caught like that again!
