That David Amoo is a handful, did well to control him running at tired legs.
So is a certain Josh Coley a handfull - watch him score in front of Big Bank on Saturday !

Nope, that's why I said I'd just seen the highlights. The clues are there.......🤔

I saw the highlights too but unlike you. I was there and was going to offer a humble opinion to you on the incident from another viewpoint. However I don't reply to aggressive responses......so up her bum!

So why not just say you were there and from a different angle it looked like.......
Oh, and a little tip for you. Start your reply beyond the end quote, that way your reply is your reply and doesn't look like you've edited the quote you're replying to.

It looked worse on the TV than in real life. As soon as it happened, my son and I turned to each other and said ‘no chance is that a penalty’ - the defender hardly touched him but Jevani threw himself down like he’d been shot. The TV makes it look like the defender really pushed him in the back, but he didn’t hence why the defender immediately suggested he’d dived.

That's interesting to hear. From the camera angle the defender definitely appeared to raise his hands but it was hard to tell how much contact he made with Jevani.

Interesting to hear. And I think part of the reason it was turned down was the lack of a strong appeal. Maybe we need to go haring after the ref like Cambridge players do.

They say the camera never lies, but seems it did in this instance. As a tv viewer it looked a stonewall pen, but the reaction of City’s players was telling.

There was an interesting article recently (the Athletic?) pointing out that penalties are often a disproportionate sanction for the offence committed. A penalty has an approx 80% chance of resulting in a goal but many penalty offences do not prevent chances of anything like 80%. This is particularly true of some dodgy VAR handballs and also those occasions when a player travelling *away* from goal is tripped just inside the area. Those penalties may be technically correct but are unjust in a footballing sense

It seems that we have (perhaps understandably) developed applications of the penalty rule (not written down?) that the ref has to be more sure and the offence has to make a substantive difference. As others have said 'that would have been a free kick if it had happened in the centre circle'
