Sorry Hants, I guess because the Scot's lockdown and ours overlap it does get and is political.
It's strayed well away from Covid.

Perhaps someone should start a Scottish politics threads, though judging by posts on the two threads I've not seen anything insightful and most posters don't seem to be able to rise above playground insults when talking about the key personalities.

I agree. Just because Sturgeon has the name of a fish there's no need to call her fish-face.

So Hancock is blaming the people for not following the rules and encouraging people to report those who are not.
Classic slight of hand to divert attention from his useless Tory-sponsor test and trace system and blame a tired and confused public, who every week are having to adapt to the Govt's latest, often contradictory rules.
Just get out, Hancock. Complete and utter j+rk

To paraphrase Einstein
e=dc²

e is evasion
dc is both Dominic Cummings & Durham Contravention

I hear there's a choice of either a heavy fine for transgressors or an afternoon in the rose garden at number 10.

Hancock is supposed to SoS for health.

In his utter fixation on preventing deaths from Covid, he is doing nothing for preventing deaths from heart disease and cancer that kill almost 1,000 people a day, day in day out and will kill even more in the years to come as treatment and diagnosis is delayed.

Normal flu still killing 10 times as many people but no-one is screaming for a test for that.

1. So why do you think so many countries are so concerned about C-19 and even prepared to accept a serious deterioration in their economies to try to deal with it? Have they all gone mad!
2. I infer from your post that you are in favour of herd immunity. If you aren't, then what?
3. Dealing with one seriously infectious virus should not exclude dealing with cancer, heart disease etc. Perhaps in the future our governments will realise that health is no.1 and they need to dedicate more resources to our health service so that it will truly be world- beating. . ..

This will not be the last zoonotic virus.
Amongst others we've had SARS, Ebola, MERS and now Covid19 in recent years.
If we want to live in a cinsumer-driven world where we destroy our natural world in order to have home comforts then we must accept that one side-effect will be many more animal-human deadly viruses quickly spread around the world. Typically as humans we want our cake and eat it

Anecdotal I know but listening to a doctor on the radio today, He said week 2 and 3 of schools returning is normally when he sees a big upsurge in parents making appointments for their kids as they have developed sniffles, coughs, sore throats etc but this year if parents have children with these syptoms they are directed straight to the Covid website to book a test for their kids, Maybe one reason why they can't cope at the labs recently?

Yes, a thousand odd. Whereas CV killed just 12 people yesterday. All over 62, all with pre existing health conditions.
