Another good sitcom written by John Sullivan. There was more than Only Fools and Horses. Citizen Smith before and after Just Good Friends he wrote Dear John and later Roger Roger as well as the spin off OFAH shows.
Really liked Roger Roger.

The Fenn St Gang a spin off of Please Sir is aired on most ITV networks..This is the first of 3 series(47 episodes)

Land Of The Giants on Westward TV around tea time.
Iirc that Sci-Fi programme was usually shown on a Sunday afternoon the year before in most areas. Just the 2 seasons(51 episodes)

The Persuaders 2nd episode of 24 in just the one series.

A ITC Production, a very expensive one it was too securing the lead actors of Roger Moore & Tony Curtis. A lot of the scenes were filmed in the south of France & Italy as well as London.

Shown in the US on ABC around the same time. This was the reason why Tony Curtis was chosen, to sell it to a US Network & audience.

Granada & Anglia TV networks did not show it on Friday prime time, showing the drama/light comedy a day before, which must have annoyed Lew Grade(who commissioned the series) & the advertising executives.

Terry Nation wrote 7 of the episodes , 8 writers in all were used.
The best part of the programme looking back is the wonderful theme tune written by John Barry.

I always enjoyed this series. Thought Moore and Curtis worked well together on screen. Off screen may have been different.

It was probably the last of those big budget multi location type of dramas.
The Champions(1968/69 was another ITC production.

Yes, an entertaining series that didn't take itself too seriously. Tony Curtis especially was good at this kind of light comedy role.

Lou Grade was such a pioneer for Commercial TV in its early days, He just knew that people wanted to be entertained and less of the stuffy BBC type that was on at the same time, Made very glossy shows with big stars of the days, Exotic locations (Sometimes) and he knew advertisers would be attracted to such shows because the audiences for them were really impressive. Oh how i wish he was still here, ITV would be so much better imo.

Compare to some of the dross that ITV commission production companies to make these days...Little wonder viewers have flocked to streaming services from across the Atlantic.
