I use to like "No Place Like Home", The neighbour Vera was funny as hell and it starred a very young Martin Clunes. You're right though most looks a bit weak, Mind saving grace was Sportsnight, That was always a decent watch midweek.

Watching TPTV its like the old Saturday morning at the pictures, Zorro, CFF film, Lone Ranger, Flash Gordon and a coule of cartoons featuring Superman and Popeye, Crtainly from a bygone era.

Watching The Good Life on GOLD
That was a great situation comedy.The mid to late 70s had a few excellent ones on the BBC.

The Good Life had such good character actors.
The story line of self sufficiency & getting out of the rat race for Tom & Barbara Good was ahead of its time.

The role of Tom was played perfectly by the wonderful Richard Briers.
