In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
14th May 1991.

Crime watch on BBC1. It ran for 33 series(322 episodes) from 1984. There was something quite shocking about the programme in its early days. The public were not used to some pretty ugly crimes being re enacted..There was a rogues gallery of assorted wanted criminals & general scumbags halfway through the programme.

The programme this evening looked at the disappearance of Dinah McNicol who was picked up hitch hiking, chillingly it was by serial killer Peter Tobin as we were to find out 16 years later when she & another girl were discovered buried in the back garden of one of Tobins former houses in Margate.
Tobin had been arrested for the murder of a Polish girl in Glasgow which lead the police to look at his life & make the grim discovery.

Cup Final day...What a surprise it was too. A popular win for a generally unpopular team at the time.

Later the 2nd series of Two of Us, a forgotten Sit Com produced by LWT..It ran for 4 series(32 episodes) 1986-90. It Centred around a couple living together & not getting married. Common these days but not so much so in the late 1980s

Nicholas Lyndhurst who played Ashley was a very busy Sit Com actor at the time.

Patrick Troughton(1920-87) played Ashley’s father in the first series, after his death, fittingly at a Sci-Fi convention where Dr Who episodes were being shown, Paul McDowell took his part for the 2nd series on.
