In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
If I'm not mistaken the bleached blonde standing behind Paul Cook was Siouxsie Sioux of the Banshees before her more Gothpunk image.
It looks like Siouxsie’s future band member in The Banshees Steve Severin committing the faux pas with a swastika armband. ?

Aye, it was she (indirectly) who was the root cause of the kerfuffle apparently after a seemingly tipsy Grundy sent an awkward comment in her direction. And the rest they say, is history!

Did you ever cross paths with the real Iron Lady Spoonz?
I'm afraid not.
Did a gig with Siouxsie-lite Toyah Wilcox 'though.

Yep.

It was an easy go-to symbol to provoke outrage among some punks.

I watched a Toyah gig around 1980..It was a good ‘un.
Saw Siouxsie & The Banshees the year before(before half her band left her mid tour)The Toyah gig was more memorable.

Bernie Rhodes would not allow the Banshees to borrow the Clash’s PA (which was stencilled) for a gig because he wisely did not want his bands name in shot with someone with a swastika image which would inevitably be photographed.

I've enjoyed seeing hubby Robert Fripp getting more and more into his alter ego role.
Who'd have though 21st Century schizoid man would be so cute?

Aye, it really was a most curious thing.

But having seen the number of hits they've been getting, it makes sense on many levels. Nice little earner if nothing else!
