I notice that one other candidate has come online to ask for votes. I am available on here to ask questions. I have put out a video message on Facebook forums, a few days ago, another forum that reaches many more online Grecians, I attend the vast majority of games home and away. I have engaged with a vast number of members face to face over the last few weeks. Over the last two years I have attended and contributed to Trust meetings, and it has given me a great understanding of how the Trust works in 2022, and the people involved. I have supported a number of Trust events and successes. I am open to any questions on a private message or any safe forum, I will come back to you. I presently have COVID and I am working off a low personal battery, but I am trying to stay engaged in the process.

Good luck to all candidates, please read my manifesto online and question answers: https://www.weownexetercityfc.co.uk/post/trust-election-hustings-and-candidate-questions

Please also also read my manifesto:

MANIFESTO: Alistair Yates

Passion, honesty, integrity, and business acumen

Please vote for me, I have supported the club 48 years and I am a season ticket holder, I attend majority of matches, and have attended most Trust meetings over the last few years. I have been an active member of the Trust contributing regularly on feedback and ideas, I am one of the few members that attend regular meetings. While there are always areas of improvement, the Trust has created a solid base and have transformed the club over the last 20 years. My reason for asking for your vote, is to contribute and offer my skill sets to the Trust. I have the business experience leading large scale transformation projects and changes in the supply chain arena. I believe I have specific corporate governance skills that would help. Currently with a significant warehouse build project underway, I know I have direct experience and skills to support.

For the last 12 years I have worked as a Company Director of my own continuously profitable business, specialising in programme and project management. I lead multi-million project deliveries, covering warehouse builds and renovation and agile continuous improvement projects. I change processes, people structures, systems, and processes with businesses I work with. I am engaged by two businesses at present to run change programmes. I have specific skills in project finance governance and business improvement.

As a family man, I believe over the last few years I have matured greatly in my views on life, and I am sold into the ‘Community’ football model. I am now able to reduce my working hours down on my business and am fortunate that I can manage my own time. I have supported the club all my life, with my family now growing up fast, I have time to commit and expertise.

We must create a Trust that moves with the times, that invests in key areas of the club for the future, we need to maximise non-matchday revenues, to enable us to grow. We must also manage costs effectively, while expanding the supporter offering at the club. I have a creative mind to add to the task. The club has some testing times in League ‘1’, we need to ensure the club continues to progress. We must continue the legacy for future generations.

If you like what I have said please vote for me. Thanks for your time.

Why can't we engage with you via this thread?

I've a question though;

In the last few years we have seen fan owned clubs like Portsmouth, Telford and most notably Wrexham all voting to remove fan ownership at their clubs, even Macclesfield are again privately owned after their liquidation. We have also seen clubs who have been in crisis or administration such as Bolton, Wigan, Derby and Oldham have all carried on with the "traditional" ownership model of private ownership.

Is trust ownership still needed or wanted at City and should we now be more open to outside investment?

Do you also believe that an open discussion should be had around the future of trust ownership at City, after all if its the correct thing then it shouldn't be anything the trust is scared of.

1) If you think you have a good message to put out, why would you not engage on here so that the widest audience can see your responses?
2) When you have stood and lost in previous elections, a frequent criticism has been your use of management speak. Does ‘working off a low personal battery’ mean ‘tired’?

As a candidate I have made a decision to respond only to messages, where the person identifies themselves, that is my personal choice to do so - thank you.

Hi Al,

I know you had good reason to miss the hustings, but I would have thought being available to answer questions in the public domain on here would be a good thing to make up for it. As a more ‘casual‘ trust member I’ll be deciding on what’s available in the public domain, not chasing candidates via private message. Imagine there are others like me.

It’s your campaign obviously, not going to tell you how to run it, good luck.

Not getting this Al.

When we had the old style face to face hustings the questioner was not obliged to identify himself or herself.

While appreciating that this forum is not the same as a face to face environment it seems to me you might be shooting yourself in the foot with your reticence.

Just my thoughts of course.

I agree with most what you have put but would say 8 other candidates should take time IMHO to be available we Trust members must keep things positive and encourage them to engage members in an open forum.

Not to bothered about management speck more if they have the skills passion time to get my vote if they don’t show on Exeweb I don’t vote for them.

Put some easy questions to the 2 candidates that showed up on Exeweb, as requested my fellow city supporters from the club house.
