As an aside, this is typical of the information the police choose to put into the public domain...

www.devon-cornwall.police.uk/NewsAppeals/Pages/default.aspx

You'll notice that most of the releases there show the police in an extremely positive light and a city centre assault which leaves a man in a critical condition doesn't warrant a mention.

Yes Neil i can read, and i didn't have a ban until receiving said letter yesterday which says my swearing at opposition players caused offence to fellow city fans around me.
The atmosphere at the park has decreased since the trust took over.
I suppose it depends what you were shouting.

Walking down the High Street screaming abuse and dropping the c-bomb left right and centre wouldn't be acceptable, so why should that be okay at a football match?

One person's comments on the report in the E&E

What a pity about the rubbish little yobs that Exeter football club attracts in to our city. The club should relocate the football ground out of town so that these useless yobs are penned in with their own parking and bar facilities, this will let normal folk get on with their shopping etc on a saturday in peace.
Jeez there are some stupidly deluded people around.
