State of play. You could argue Sparkes should be on the wing and Coley might play on the right but I've based on where I think these players fit at current. Ordered by surname alphabetically before someone shouts Stubbs isn't 5th choice RCB. Massive gaps down the right midfield/wing, left side of defence and weak in the 10 (although maybe Dodd fits here if he is still around...). I still haven't counted Sweeney, Page, Cox or Lee as they're not signed on currently...

Thanks Ryan, it does show some huge shortcomings, even if you merged the RB & RWB together, and RM & RW together (likewise on the left hand side) and also our dependence on youth only 5 players over 25 years old. Be interesting to see how it stands in a fortnight's time with the offers currently out!

He's pretty slow. Will he get in ahead of Randall, Coley et al.? I'd suggest if he is not at LB he may struggle for game time.

I expect us to play 3-5-2 a lot next season which will suit both Sparkes and Key.

Excellent news. Can he also assure us he won't be playing on the right side of midfield either....

Looking forward to seeing Jack flourish on the left...

Was that on 1st April? I get that he won't be first choice at LB (good!) but what if there are injuries?

Maybe but won’t that be at the detriment to the likes of Randall and Coley. Would prefer more of a 4-2-3-1 formation.

He wasn't as resolute as you make it sound, it all depends if we can get 2 left backs signed on looking at his comments in the 'make or break' article.
MT said he will look to give him opportunities in more attacking areas, but still indicated he will play the wing back role if we play 3 centre halfs.
Imagine a lot will depend on if Page decides to stay on, signing a second league quality left back is probably going to be low on the list of priorities given the holes in the rest of the squad.

Exactly. MT said we will have two specialist left backs (not including Jack Sparkes). Signing the second specialist left back will be the lowest priority. I will only believe it (signing two specialist left backs) when I see it.
