Not sure if mentioned before but personal pagers, A while back I seem to remember all management had them plus people who worked in the field, I guess the mobile took over from them.

I had one in British Indian Ocean Territory just 2 year ago. So did everyone. No phone signal, but the pagers worked and was a good way to get everyone together.

Round pin plugs/sockets in domestic houses.

10p Electric meters.My parents rented out a chalet beside their house in Dawlish Warren,I had the key for the meter so always had plenty of change
