I used to get a few Commando picture monthlies during the eighties and also from the same publisher Football Picture Monthly which was exactly the same format as Commando with four issued every month.

I had those GJW! Blimey. A blast from the past. I won the trophy too for most money raised. £24.38 it was back in the late 80's.

I remember them and doing Bob-a-job when I was a Cub Scout in the seventies.

Apparently it was relaunched as "Community Week" in 2012, but not with the door to door element, but rather as organised work parties taking on community projects.
